Chocolate Avocado Brownies

Life would be pretty boring if we couldn’t eat the foods we love! And eating well doesn’t mean you have to avoid certain foods or restrict what you eat!

It’s all about balance and yes that is different for everyone, but enjoying food, not stressing over macros or counting calories. If we all ate the same and exercised the same…we would still all look different so why do so many so called diets and fad diets expect everyone to eat the same foods, eat the same amount of calories and avoid the same foods.

Did you know that two thirds of women are on a diet most of the time…meaning that many are restricting the foods they eat, causing possible hormonal imbalances, weight fluctuations, nutrient deficiencies and gut issues.

That’s why I use the balance approach for each and every one of my clients who come to me confused and struggling to understand what works for them. By finding that individual balance using certain tools can really help to gain that confidence around food, and find balance with weight, hormones and gut health.

It’s not about restrictions and avoiding foods but about finding a wonderful balance with the foods we love and the foods that will nourish us! These brownies are not only delicious but are packed with amazing ingredients with a secret ingredient….

Avocado…! Did you know that avocados are not only packed with healthy fats, higher amounts of potassium than bananas, but they are also loaded with antioxidants, liver supporting nutrients as well as fibre for gut health!

And not forgetting that amazing addition of peanut butter 🤤

Avocado Brownies

1/2 cup mashed avocado (approx 1 avocado)

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup coconut sugar

80g dark chocolate 

1 cup oat flour

1/4 cup cacao powder

1 tsp baking powder 

1 cup oat milk 

Add the mashed avocado, peanut butter and coconut sugar into a bowl and mix well together.

Melt the dark chocolate 

Add the oat flour, cacao powder and baking powder to the avocado mix and stir through.

Add the milk and stir in. Pour in the dark chocolate and fold through.

Pour into a lined baking tray and swirl over a little more peanut butter and pop into the oven at 170c for 25 minutes or until a skewer comes out barely clean.

Allow to cool and enjoy!

Pop into the fridge in an airtight container for them to last a little longer!
