Chocolate Porridge

You all know by now that I absolutely love cacao and for good reason…it is packed with amazing health benefits and of course it tastes amazing.

Did you know that;
Cacao is loaded with antioxidants and has 40x the concentration of antioxidants than blueberries.

Cacao has the highest plant based source of magnesium which is needed for over 300 chemical reactions within the body including supporting heart health, energy production, muscle relaxation, helps turn glucose into energy enabling your brain to work with clarity and focus, and support blood sugar balance.

Cacao also contains 4 amazing mood boosting chemicals serotonin, tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylethylamine, which can help with those feelings of happiness and wellbeing as well as alleviating symptoms of depression.

And not forgetting the high concentration of plant based iron with a whopping 7.3mg per 100g.

why not start the day with a delicious bowl of chocolate oats but up the porridge game by adding in amazing fruit and veg to the mix to help gut the 8 a day veggies and fruit.

Chocolate Porridge

1 banana

1/2 avocado

1/2 courgette

2 heaped tbsp cacao powder

1 tbsp mushroom complex blend (optional)

1/2 cup plant based oat milk

1/2 cup rolled oats

1 tbsp almond butter

berries/dark chocolate/peanut butter

In a blender add the banana, avocado, courgette, cacao, mushroom blend and oat milk and blend until nice and smooth

Pour into a pan and begin to warm up over a medium heat. Add the oats and 1 tbsp almond butter and stir through. Then the heat down to a gentle simmer and adding in enough milk to make sure it doesn’t dry up.

Cook for approx 5-10 minutes and serve with some peanut butter, antioxidant rich berries abs a drizzle of dark chocolate
