Hot Chocolate Oats

there’s nothing more pleasing than chocolate in the morning, well to be honest chocolate is pleasing anytime of the day.

But the fact that cacao is in fact so good for you and provides the highest plant based source of magnesium which is needed for over 300 chemical reactions within the body, as well as high a,lungs of iron and fibre and has been shown to support heart health, support gut health, reduce the risk and symptoms of anxiety and depression and can even support against type 2 diabetes, then there really isn’t an excuse need to add it to your morning breakfasts.

Hot chocolate is always a nice comfort drink, but with that deliciousness and then adding oats makes for a truly indulgent but healthy breakfast and is exactly what is needed some mornings and doesnt take anytime at all to make.

Hot chocolate Porridge

1 pear

2cm fresh ginger grated

1/2 avocado

1 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter

3 tbsp cacao powder

1 cup milk

1/2 cup rolled oats

1 tbsp chia seed

1 tbsp flaxmeal

In a nutribullet add the pear, avocado, ginger, cacao powder, peanut\almond butter and milk and blend to a nice smooth consistency.

Add the smoothie mixture to a pan and gently heat to a gentle simmer and then add the oats, chia seeds and flaxmeal and turn down the heat and cook until the oats are nicely softened.

Add more milk if it becomes a little dry.

Top with your favourite berries and almond butter.
