Autumn Spiced Oats

Autumn is finally here and so are the colder days so a delicious warming breakfast is a great way to kick start the day!

Did you know that spices are loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties which is great for our health as we head into flu season!

Curcumin the active ingredient found in turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and is also a potent antioxidant that can help to support our immune health.

Turmeric can dramatically increase the antioxidant capacity of the body And has been shown to improve brain function and reduce risk factors of neurodegenerative diseases.

Ceylon Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants that protects your body from oxidative damage caused by free radicals.

It’s anti-inflammatory so It helps your body fight infections and repair tissue damage.

Cinnamon is also amazing at helping to increase insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar levels It does this by interfering with numerous digestive enzymes, which slows the breakdown of carbohydrates in your digestive tract!

Team that with some fibre rich veg and warming oats and you have yourself a wonderful start to the day!

Autumn Spiced Oats

1 carrot

1/2 small courgette

1/2 avocado

1 cup oats

3/4 cup almond milk

1 tbsp @naturya turmeric Superblend

1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon

1 tsp Maca powder

2 tbsp each of hemp seeds and chia seeds

Add the carrot, courgette and avocado along with the turmeric Superblend cinnamon and Maca with the milk and whizz until smooth!

Add this to a pan and gently heat then add in oats, hemp seeds and chia seeds and cook until the oats are nicely softened

Serve with pumpkin seeds and fruit and enjoy!
